We are on a mission to empower visually impaired people to live limitless lives.

Our Story

Compact Cane was developed during our founder’s Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering with Advanced Design & Innovation in 2018. After listening to real life stories from people living with sight loss, she was moved to develop a meaningful product that addresses the social stigma around using a white cane. Compact Cane – ‘a white cane that doesn’t look like a white cane’ – was born. The idea was developed with a focus group of visually impaired people, sight loss rehabilitation workers and leading university researchers. Read more about our progress here.

We are a socially-driven health tech start-up based in London, developing Compact Cane for people living with sight loss.
